Our Story

Wings of Harper began with our daughter, Harper.

After being admitted to the hospital on bedrest, Harper arrived at just 27 weeks—thirteen weeks before we were ready to meet her. Suddenly, our family was navigating a world we never expected: the NICU.

But our story didn't begin there. Our journey to grow our family has included infertility, pregnancy loss, high-risk pregnancies, hospital bedrest, premature birth, and the uncertainty that comes with loving a baby while wishing you could protect them from everything.

Through those experiences, we learned how much the smallest acts of kindness matter. A meal. A gas card. Someone checking in. A reminder that you're seen. Sometimes the smallest gesture can carry you through a day you weren't sure you could get through.

That's why I created Wings of Harper.

What began with our family's story has grown into something meant for many different journeys—a place where families can find support, resources, connection, and reminders that they don't have to walk through the hardest moments alone.

Different Journeys. One Community. No One Walks Alone.

Founder of Wings of Harper

Hi, I'm Emily, founder of Wings of Harper and mom to Everson and Harper.

Our family's journey into high-risk pregnancy and the NICU didn't begin with Harper. Years earlier, I experienced preeclampsia, hospital bedrest, an early delivery, and the NICU with my son, Everson. I knew what it felt like to have pregnancy and birth look nothing like you imagined.

Then came Harper.

After another high-risk pregnancy and hospital bedrest, Harper arrived at just 27 weeks—13 weeks earlier than we were prepared for. This time, the NICU became our world for months. There were surgeries, scary days, tiny victories, and so much uncertainty.

Through both of my children's journeys, I learned how much the smallest acts of kindness can matter. A meal. Help with gas. Someone checking in. A thoughtful gift. Simply knowing someone remembered you were still there.

Those experiences stayed with me.

I created Wings of Harper to turn what our family has walked through into support for someone else. Today, we support families navigating the NICU, IVF, high-risk pregnancy and hospital bedrest, and pregnancy or infant loss—different journeys that can all feel incredibly lonely.

We can't take away what a family is facing. But we can show up. We can make things a little lighter. And we can remind them that they don't have to walk their journey alone.

Different journeys. One community. No one walks alone.

Because sometimes the smallest reminder that someone cares can give us the wings to keep going.
